Muscular Dystrophy knows no geographical borders. Kids just like Doug all over the world suffer from the same debilitating disorder. When I started Ride For Doug, one of the things I wanted to do was unite motorcyclists around the world in a common cause. The power of the human spirit, when multiplied globally, is capable of a great many things.
In 2007, we had riders from more than a half dozen countries on at least 3 different continents riding for Doug. From as far north as Alaska, to as far south as New Zealand. We even had a couple of celebraties riding in the wild of Africa. In 2008, riders in Poland, 3 US States, and Alberta joined us in a Ride For Doug. 2011 will see riders in Alaska, Newfoundland, France, and Australia join us.
If you would like to organize a more formal local Ride For Doug - please talk to me. I'd be happy to list your ride on the site, and send you helpful info on Muscular Dystrophy and charity ride organization.
